Privacy Policy

We run a hotel, not a data brokerage. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect when you contact or stay with us, why we collect it, and how to get it deleted. Last updated: September 2026.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Joyavero Hospitality Ltd, owner and operator of the Joyavero hotel, 12 Hawthorne Drive, Frankton, Queenstown 9300, New Zealand (NZBN 9429 041 982 7731).

Questions about your data go straight to the duty manager — see the contact block at the bottom of this page. We answer privacy emails the same day we answer booking emails: personally.

What we collect

Booking details

Name, email, phone number, dates, guest count and any notes you send us in the form or by phone. We need these to hold your room — that's the whole story.

Payment handling

Deposits are processed by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card number on our systems. Invoices reference your booking name only.

Essential cookies

A handful of first-party cookies that remember your preferences on this site. No ad trackers, no cross-site profiling — the full list lives on our Cookie Policy page.

How we use it

  • To confirm and prepare your stay — rooms, transfers, dietary notes.
  • To reply to enquiries about events, conferences and long stays.
  • To meet New Zealand tax and guest-registration obligations.
  • Never for advertising. We don't buy, sell or share guest lists, and we don't send marketing you didn't ask for.

Sharing & retention

Your details live in our booking ledger and are seen only by staff who need them: reception, housekeeping (name and dates only) and the events team when relevant.

We keep booking records for seven years as New Zealand tax law requires, then they're shredded — the paper ones literally, the digital ones permanently. Third parties we work with: our payment provider and, if you use the map on our contacts page, Google Maps under their own privacy terms.

Your rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you. We action every request within 20 working days — usually much faster.

Email joyavero@gmail.com with the name your booking was made under. We'll send a copy of everything we hold, in a readable format, free of charge.

Tell us what's wrong and we'll fix it. Deletion requests are honoured unless we're legally required to keep the record (tax and guest-registration rules).

If you're unhappy with how we handled your data, tell us first — we fix things fast. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

The duty manager handles every privacy request personally — no forms, no ticket numbers.
